Initial Thoughts
The nose on this batch of Black Runtz from DC i-71 storefront dispensary No Kids Allowed is just awesome. It’s very similar to a fruit candy and skews toward something like pineapple or cherry. It’s also fresher than many bags of Runtz I’ve seen lately and this is definitely contributing to the loudness of the aroma. Also, note not only how fresh and heavy the trichome coverage is, but how large the individual trichomes are as well.
Appearance
Spear-shaped buds that are about half deep purple and half dark green with lots of frosty white trichomes.
Status
Fresh and just beginning to cure.
Aroma
Fruity like candy of the pineapple or cherry variety, but with notes that are skunky and gassy as well. Deliciously pungent!
Flavor
It hits smooth and has tremendous berry, skunky, gassy notes. There’s also hints of earth and coffee in the aftertaste.
Lineage
Black Runtz is a cross of Black Diamond Sherbert and Runtz that runs indica-dominant.
Effects
This batch packs an immense body buzz that’s highly relaxing and joyful to experience. I found myself frequently lost in thought with a smile on my face. Though it was hard to focus I wasn’t too drowsy to knock out some writing work, but falling asleep was easy when wrapped in the cozy, glowing high. It’s probably better for evening use or times of rest and rejuvenation.
Conclusion
If you’re a Runtz fan then you’ll love this version’s potent effects and magnificent flavor. It also breaks up easy, rolls easy, and has a super white ash.
