Initial Thoughts
I’ve been a huge fan of this Red Velvet from DC i-71 storefront, The Garden, this week. It’s got this amazingly pungent aroma that’s tangy, bready, and skunky like a great fruity Cake variety. In fact, it’s so cakey it makes me think of angel food cake, and the various fruity toppings that can go on it, everytime I hit it.
Appearance
Deep green and purple buds with hyper-white and starry trichomes.
Status
These dense buds are sticky and fresh!
Aroma
Awesome. Fruity, cakey, and tangy.
Flavor
Fruity and cakey, much like the aroma, but with hints of cream and vanilla. It’s somewhere between a lemon cherry gelato and jungle cake.
Lineage
Red Velvet is an indica leaning, yet energetic, hybrid that was created by crossing Lemon Cherry Gelato and Pina Acai strains. It runs roughly 60/40 in terms of indica/sativa ratio.
Effects
There’s a joyously uplifting vibe that’s created by this batch. I absolutely love it in the daytime and it keeps me buzzing in a warm, but energetic, body buzz while keeping me relatively mellow and focused. There’s little to no disorientation for me, yet all digestive and joint pain is immediately quelled by it.
Conclusion
Even though it’s no where near my favorite cupcake flavor, I’m really psyched on this batch of Red Velvet flower. This is mostly because of the cheery, uplifting, and energetic buzz, but also because the flavor is just so hard to put down. Definitely head over to The Garden this weekend to grab some for your own stash and give this one a try. Don’t forget to tell them Toker’s Guide sent you!
