Initial Thoughts

After speaking with so many of Toker’s Guides readers at our 4/20 event the one product that kept getting brought up was these DC MOTA vape pens. Appearance

The vape pen is housed in the classic DC MOTA Flip packaging, with all the strain information on the back. The pen is familiar but it has new decals for Red Bull and Ice Cream Cake to label it. The Indica side has much lighter oil than the sativa side, but it’s cool to see how different plants react to the extraction process.

Flavor

The Red Bullz is more gassy, sour and spicy while the Ice Cream Cake is on the sweeter end of the spectrum with some creamy notes, reminding me of sherbert ice cream.

Lineage

The Red Bull strain is a cross of White Runtz and Grape Gasoline that runs sativa dominant while the Ice Cream Cake strain is a cross of Gelato and Wedding Cake that runs indica dominant.

Effects

The Red Bull side is perfect for when I want something a little stimulating without completely putting me over the top. It’s great for most of the day but I found it especially helpful for that boost of energy after work when I needed to run around and get some errands done. The Ice Cream Cake side on the other hand was for the complete opposite, I turned to that when I wanted to space out. It was disorienting, but not in a bad way, everything from my vision to my toes went fuzzy. It especially helped me settle and clear my mind after a long day.

Conclusion

I always love the DC MOTA “Flips” for the convenience of being able to switch back and forth, especially when it provides a wide range of effects like this pen. I can happily puff on the sativa all day then swap to the indica when I’m ready to tone it down without even skipping a beat.
