Initial Thoughts
Check out this batch of Jack Herer from DC i-71 marijuana dispensary, ,,Treehouse DC. It’s a legendary varietal and a Toker’s Guide favorite that’s known instantly by it’s delectable, citrusy nose. When we find it on a menu around town, we’re always psyched to give it a closer look and, in this case, several team members picked up some personal to fill their own coffers as well.
Appearance
These buds have a proper Haze look to them with frosty trichomes galore, a neon green coloration, and bright orange pistils.
Status
Fresh, but starting to cure.
Aroma
Prominent citrus with an underlining Haze-like anise scent.
Flavor
There was less citrus taste than expected with the flavor profile leaning towards the anise and Hazey side of things. In this way, you might say it was more like a Dr Pepper than a Margarita.
Lineage
The Jack Herer strain is a cross of Haze, Northern Lights and Shiva Skunk that runs sativa dominant. It’s named for the legendary cannabis activist, Jack Herer, and originally bred by Sensi Seeds to honor his work.
Effects
This Jack Herer started off with a burst of energy and creativity, uplifting my mood and letting my imagination run wild. Its cerebral effects provided moments of clear-headed motivation, although I soon realized that productivity wasn’t on the agenda. Instead, I found myself immersed in the sheer enjoyment of music, as every note became more captivating. It made everything around me feel more vibrant and alive, reassuring me that today is going to be a wonderful day.
Conclusion
It’s crazy to me that strains like Jack Herer were pushed aside for new age exotics. While it’s not the easiest to grow because of the Haze in its genetics, the end result is a masterpiece, and should make it more sought out, in my opinion, than some of the latest designer strains out there. Experience some Jack Herer for yourself by heading over to ,,Treehouse DC today and don’t forget to mention that Toker’s Guide sent you!
