Initial Thoughts

Hot Mint Sundae is one of the hottest strains out of CULTA here in Maryland right now and I’m actually quite grateful I found an eighth of this elusive strain to try. Over the years we’ve seen CULTA come out with an extensive variety of beloved genetics – they’re always pushing the limits with their top quality cultivars. In the case of this batch, as usual, the bar keeps rising!

Appearance

This flower has a textured, fluffy look with a spread of greens, flecks of purple, and golden starry trichomes galore.

Status

Curing, but the aroma is still on-point. Very sticky to the touch while breaking it down.

Aroma

Chem, gas, and some fruity notes with more floral aspects after the gassiness has settled.

Flavor

I found the flavor of this strain to be very complex. When I first inhaled I tasted more of the earthy pungent Chem. On the exhale, however, I was delighted with more of the sweet, fruity, floral notes.

Lineage

The Hot Mint Sundae strain is a cross of Fatso Biscotti Sundae and London Pound Mints that runs balanced.

Effects

This strain is a pretty down the line 50/50 hybrid that may be suitable for many purposes due to its balanced effects. There’s an energetic head rush at onset with some euphoria, but the mellow feels takeover shortly after. I also experienced a wave of tingles across my body and a heavier feeling at higher amounts. I felt revived, yet relaxed and as I came down there were some sedative effects that helped me sleep well.

Conclusion

Though probably best saved for late afternoon or evening, I could see this being helpful for those seeking rejuvenation without drowsiness during the day too. Overall, it’s another prime example of excellently cultivated CULTA flower and I can certainly understand why it’s so popular in the Maryland medical cannabis scene.
