Initial Thoughts
This Dulce De Leche, currently available at DC i-71 cannabis dispensary, Elevated Lounge, blew me away from the second I popped the lid. It’s super fresh, super dank, and has an aroma that’s remarkably like the sweet milk candy it’s named for.
Appearance
These extra long Dulce De Leche buds are loaded with starry trichomes and covered in orange and white pistils. A nice light green is the primary color and the short untrimmed fan leaves are darker green.
Status
FRESH.
Aroma
There was a distinct sweetness in the scent, reminiscent of a creamy dessert. The blend of citrus, cream, and floral notes also played a role in the sweet smell.
Flavor
The smoothness of each inhale revealed warm caramel tones. Additionally, there was a slightly spicy nut-like flavor as well.
Lineage
The Dulce De Leche strain is a cross between Caramel Cream and Maple Leaf that runs slightly indica dominant at 60:40.
Effects
The initial wave of relaxation washed over me just as I took my last toke, providing me a complete sense of calmness. Despite the deeply relaxing nature of this strain, it also had a surprising ability to enhance focus and stimulate conversation. It didn’t give me the munchies too bad, which I found surprising given the name and my love for desserts. But, maybe the sweetness of its delicious flavor satisfied my sweet tooth enough.
Conclusion
With this Dulce De Leche in my pipe, I was on cloud nine all afternoon and much of the evening. It’s energetic enough for daytime use, but instills a wonderful sense of euphoric calm that’s great at night too. I truly like everything about this flower and I can’t wait to head down to Elevated Lounge to grab some more before it’s gone!
