Initial Thoughts

This was my first encounter with Rythm flower and I found myself filled with eager anticipation. Rythm has a reputation for quality and this jar of Brownie Scout, once I opened it up, was certainly no exception. It’s currently available at RISE dispensary in Lynchburg, VA and various others throughout the state. With a nose that resembles cocoa and some super frosty buds you don’t need a merit badge to know that these buds will do the trick.

Appearance

Rotund light green and purple flecked buds with tons of frosty white and starry trichomes everywhere.

Status

Fresh, but beginning to cure.

Aroma

A cocoa aroma but closer to the smell of raw cocoa and not as sweet as a bar of chocolate. Also, floral and earthy notes with hints of fuel.

Flavor

A cocoa-forward flavor profile infused with subtle notes of spiciness, diesel, and mocha.

Lineage

The Brownie Scout strain is a cross of Platinum Girl Scout Cookies and Kosher Kush that runs indica dominant at 70/30.

Effects

Brownie Scout’s effects made an assertive entrance, hitting with intensity. A sense of elation and giggles washed over me, creating a hazy mental environment making it difficult to get around. As time passed, the sedative qualities of Brownie Scout became increasingly evident. The heaviness evolved into a relaxed drowsiness and eventually a restful slumber. Even though this strain hit me like a truck, I still woke up the next morning feeling recharged.

Conclusion

RISE has been making substantial strides that should make other operators in the state take note. Not only have they recently opened their sixth store in Virginia, but the quality of their offerings is unmistakably on the…rise. Brownie Scout, in particular, is a testament to their commitment to quality. It marks a significant leap from their &Shine line, which left me with mixed impressions. Any reservations I had when first trying &Shine have now been dispelled, and I’m psyched to try more Rythm harvests in the near future.
