Initial Thoughts
Have a look at this gorgeous Apples and Bananas flower specimen from DC i-71 cannabis storefront dispensary, Monko. It has all the hallmarks of a great hydroponics grown batch of fire and I’m psyched to roll it up and see what she’s all about.
Appearance
These bright green buds are over-sized and deliciously fluffy with bright orange hairs and lots of starry and white trichomes all over.
Status
Fresh and just beginning to cure.
Aroma
Sour and tart fruit like a green apple, but with something sugary and tropical as well.
Flavor
Sour, fruity, sweet, and earthy in a super funky and delicious way.
Lineage
The Apples and Bananas strain is a sophisticated cross of four phenomenal strains: [(Platinum Cookies X GDP) X Blue Power] X Gelatti. It runs evenly balanced at 50/50 on the indica/sativa spectrum.
Effects
This bud hits smooth and comes on quick with a vibrant cerebral buzz full of energy and positivity. It’s a mood enhancer and uplifting high for sure. However, it is also quite intoxicating and slightly disorienting – a testament to the indica influence. Overall I’d say the effects are more energetic than balanced, yet the eventual body buzz that sets in should be noted as calming and somewhat tranquil.
Conclusion
The perfect bud for a daytime spring journey around DC, this Apples & Bananas cut made all the sights and sounds seem a bit extra. The cheery uplifting vibes even inspired me to go exploring for new nooks and crannies of the District. Everytime I paused to spark and re-spark my joint it was like I was upgraded to another level. I also remarked, each time, at just how white the ash was. This is truly a remarkable batch of a wonderful varietal and I’ll be looking to scoop some more ASAP!
